Salmo 73

¹Salmo de Asafe: Sim, certamente Deus é bom para Israel, para os limpos de coração.

²Eu porém, quase que meus pés se desviaram; quase nada faltou para meus passos escorregarem.

³Porque eu tinha inveja dos arrogantes, quando via a prosperidade dos perversos.

⁴Porque não há problemas para eles até sua morte, e o vigor deles continua firme.

⁵Não são tão oprimidos como o homem comum, nem são afligidos como os outros homens;

⁶Por isso eles são rodeados de arrogância como um colar; estão cobertos de violência como se fosse um vestido.

⁷Seus olhos incham de gordura; são excessivos os desejos do coração deles.

⁸Eles são escarnecedores e oprimem falando mal e falando arrogantemente.

⁹Elevam suas bocas ao céu, e suas línguas andam na terra.

¹⁰Por isso seu povo volta para cá, e as águas lhes são espremidas por completo.

¹¹E dizem: Como Deus saberia? Será que o Altíssimo tem conhecimento disto?

¹²Eis que estes são perversos, sempre estão confortáveis e aumentam seus bens.

¹³Cheguei a pensar: Certamente purifiquei meu coração e lavei minhas mãos na inocência inutilmente,

¹⁴Porque sou afligido o dia todo, e castigado toda manhã.

¹⁵Se eu tivesse dito isto, eu falaria dessa maneira; eis que teria decepcionado a geração de teus filhos.

¹⁶Quando tentei entender, isto me pareceu trabalhoso.

¹⁷Até que entrei nos santuários de Deus, e entendi o fim de tais pessoas.

¹⁸Certamente tu os fazes escorregarem, e os lança em assolações.

¹⁹Como eles foram assolados tão repentinamente! Eles se acabaram, e se consumiram de medo.

²⁰Como o sonho depois de acordar, ó Senhor, quando tu acordares desprezarás a aparência deles;

²¹Porque meu coração tem se amargurado, e meus rins têm sentido dolorosas picadas.

²²Então me comportei como tolo, e nada sabia; tornei-me como um animal para contigo.

²³Porém agora estarei continuamente contigo; tu tens segurado minha mão direita.

²⁴Tu me guiarás com teu conselho, e depois me receberás em glória.

²⁵A quem tenho no céu além de ti? E quando estou contigo, nada há na terra que eu deseje.

²⁶Minha carne e meu coração desfalecem; porém Deus será a rocha do meu coração e minha porção para sempre.

²⁷Porque eis que os que ficaram longe de ti perecerão; tu destróis todo infiel a ti.

²⁸Mas quanto a mim, bom me é me aproximar de Deus; ponho minha confiança no Senhor DEUS, para que eu conte todas as tuas obras.

¹A Psalm of Asaph. Truly God is good to Israel, even to such as are of a clean heart.

²But as for me, my feet were almost gone; my steps had well nigh slipped.

³For I was envious at the foolish, when I saw the prosperity of the wicked.

⁴For there are no bands in their death: but their strength is firm.

⁵They are not in trouble as other men; neither are they plagued like other men.

⁶Therefore pride compasseth them about as a chain; violence covereth them as a garment.

⁷Their eyes stand out with fatness: they have more than heart could wish.

⁸They are corrupt, and speak wickedly concerning oppression: they speak loftily.

⁹They set their mouth against the heavens, and their tongue walketh through the earth.

¹⁰Therefore his people return hither: and waters of a full cup are wrung out to them.

¹¹And they say, How doth God know? and is there knowledge in the most High?

¹²Behold, these are the ungodly, who prosper in the world; they increase in riches.

¹³Verily I have cleansed my heart in vain, and washed my hands in innocency.

¹⁴For all the day long have I been plagued, and chastened every morning.

¹⁵If I say, I will speak thus; behold, I should offend against the generation of thy children.

¹⁶When I thought to know this, it was too painful for me;

¹⁷Until I went into the sanctuary of God; then understood I their end.

¹⁸Surely thou didst set them in slippery places: thou castedst them down into destruction.

¹⁹How are they brought into desolation, as in a moment! they are utterly consumed with terrors.

²⁰As a dream when one awaketh; so, O Lord, when thou awakest, thou shalt despise their image.

²¹Thus my heart was grieved, and I was pricked in my reins.

²²So foolish was I, and ignorant: I was as a beast before thee.

²³Nevertheless I am continually with thee: thou hast holden me by my right hand.

²⁴Thou shalt guide me with thy counsel, and afterward receive me to glory.

²⁵Whom have I in heaven but thee? and there is none upon earth that I desire beside thee.

²⁶My flesh and my heart faileth: but God is the strength of my heart, and my portion for ever.

²⁷For, lo, they that are far from thee shall perish: thou hast destroyed all them that go a whoring from thee.

²⁸But it is good for me to draw near to God: I have put my trust in the Lord God, that I may declare all thy works.

¹Psalmus Asaph. Quam bonus Israël Deus, his qui recto sunt corde!

²Mei autem pene moti sunt pedes, pene effusi sunt gressus mei:

³quia zelavi super iniquos, pacem peccatorum videns.

⁴Quia non est respectus morti eorum, et firmamentum in plaga eorum.

⁵In labore hominum non sunt, et cum hominibus non flagellabuntur.

⁶Ideo tenuit eos superbia; operti sunt iniquitate et impietate sua.

⁷Prodiit quasi ex adipe iniquitas eorum; transierunt in affectum cordis.

⁸Cogitaverunt et locuti sunt nequitiam; iniquitatem in excelso locuti sunt.

⁹Posuerunt in cælum os suum, et lingua eorum transivit in terra.

¹⁰Ideo convertetur populus meus hic, et dies pleni invenientur in eis.

¹¹Et dixerunt: Quomodo scit Deus, et si est scientia in excelso?

¹²Ecce ipsi peccatores, et abundantes in sæculo obtinuerunt divitias.

¹³Et dixi: Ergo sine causa justificavi cor meum, et lavi inter innocentes manus meas,

¹⁴et fui flagellatus tota die, et castigatio mea in matutinis.

¹⁵Si dicebam: Narrabo sic; ecce nationem filiorum tuorum reprobavi.

¹⁶Existimabam ut cognoscerem hoc; labor est ante me:

¹⁷donec intrem in sanctuarium Dei, et intelligam in novissimis eorum.

¹⁸Verumtamen propter dolos posuisti eis; dejecisti eos dum allevarentur.

¹⁹Quomodo facti sunt in desolationem? subito defecerunt: perierunt propter iniquitatem suam.

²⁰Velut somnium surgentium, Domine, in civitate tua imaginem ipsorum ad nihilum rediges.

²¹Quia inflammatum est cor meum, et renes mei commutati sunt;

²²et ego ad nihilum redactus sum, et nescivi:

²³ut jumentum factus sum apud te, et ego semper tecum.

²⁴Tenuisti manum dexteram meam, et in voluntate tua deduxisti me, et cum gloria suscepisti me.

²⁵Quid enim mihi est in cælo? et a te quid volui super terram?

²⁶Defecit caro mea et cor meum; Deus cordis mei, et pars mea, Deus in æternum.

²⁷Quia ecce qui elongant se a te peribunt; perdidisti omnes qui fornicantur abs te.

²⁸Mihi autem adhærere Deo bonum est; ponere in Domino Deo spem meam: ut annuntiem omnes prædicationes tuas in portis filiæ Sion.

¹Ψαλμὸς τῷ Ἀσάφ. Ὡς ἀγαθὸς τῷ Ἰσραὴλ ὁ θεός, τοῖς εὐθέσι τῇ καρδίᾳ.

²ἐμοῦ δὲ παρὰ μικρὸν ἐσαλεύθησαν οἱ πόδες, παρ᾽ ὀλίγον ἐξεχύθη τὰ διαβήματά μου.

³ὅτι ἐζήλωσα ἐπὶ τοῖς ἀνόμοις, εἰρήνην ἁμαρτωλῶν θεωρῶν·

⁴ὅτι οὐκ ἔστιν ἀνάνευσις ἐν τῷ θανάτῳ αὐτῶν, καὶ στερέωμα ἐν τῇ μάστιγι αὐτῶν·

⁵ἐν κόποις ἀνθρώπων οὐκ εἰσίν, καὶ μετὰ ἀνθρώπων οὐ μαστιγωθήσονται.

⁶διὰ τοῦτο ἐκράτησεν αὐτοὺς ἡ ὑπερηφανία, περιεβάλοντο ἀδικίαν καὶ ἀσέβειαν αὐτῶν.

⁷ἐξελεύσεται ὡς ἐκ στέατος ἡ ἀδικία αὐτῶν, διῆλθον εἰς διάθεσιν καρδίας·

⁸διενοήθησαν καὶ ἐλάλησαν ἐν πονηρίᾳ, ἀδικίαν εἰς τὸ ὕψος ἐλάλησαν·

⁹ἔθεντο εἰς οὐρανὸν τὸ στόμα αὐτῶν, καὶ ἡ γλῶσσα αὐτῶν διῆλθεν ἐπὶ τῆς γῆς.

¹⁰διὰ τοῦτο ἐπιστρέψει ὁ λαός μου ἐνταῦθα, καὶ ἡμέραι πλήρεις εὑρεθήσονται αὐτοῖς,

¹¹καὶ εἶπαν Πῶς ἔγνω ὁ θεός; καὶ εἰ ἔστιν γνῶσις ἐν τῷ ὑψίστῳ;

¹²ἰδοὺ ἁμαρτωλοὶ καὶ εὐθηνοῦνται· εἰς τὸν αἰῶνα κατέσχον πλούτου.

¹³καὶ εἶπα Ἄρα ματαίως ἐδικαίωσα τὴν καρδίαν μου, καὶ ἐνιψάμην ἐν ἀθῴοις τὰς χεῖράς μου,

¹⁴καὶ ἐγενόμην μεμαστιγωμένος ὅλην τὴν ἡμέραν, καὶ ὁ ἔλεγχός μου εἰς τὰς πρωίας.

¹⁵εἰ ἔλεγον Διηγήσομαι οὕτως, ἰδοὺ τῇ γενεᾷ τῶν υἱῶν σου ἠσυνθέτηκα.

¹⁶καὶ ὑπέλαβον τοῦ γνῶναι· τοῦτο κόπος ἐναντίον μου,

¹⁷ἕως εἰσέλθω εἰς τὸ ἁγιαστήριον τοῦ θεοῦ, καὶ συνῶ εἰς τὰ ἔσχατα.

¹⁸πλὴν διὰ τὰς δολιότητας ἔθου αὐτοῖς.

¹⁹πῶς ἐγένοντο εἰς ἐρήμωσιν; ἐξάπινα ἐξέλιπον, ἀπώλοντο διὰ τὴν ἀνομίαν αὐτῶν.

²⁰ὡσεὶ ἐνύπνιον ἐξεγειρομένου, κύριε, ἐν τῇ πόλει σου τὴν εἰκόνα αὐτῶν ἐξουδενώσεις.

²¹ὅτι ηὐφράνθη ἡ καρδία μου, καὶ οἱ νεφροί μου ἠλλοιώθησαν·

²²καὶ ἐγὼ ἐξουδενωμένος καὶ οὐκ ἔγνων, κτηνώδης ἐγενόμην παρὰ σοί.

²³καὶ ἐγὼ διὰ παντὸς μετὰ σοῦ· ἐκράτησας τῆς χειρὸς τῆς δεξιᾶς μου,

²⁴ἐν τῇ βουλῇ σου ὡδήγησάς με, καὶ μετὰ δόξης προσελάβου με.

²⁵τί γὰρ μοι ὑπάρχει ἐν τῷ οὐρανῷ; καὶ παρὰ σοῦ τὶ ἠθέλησα ἐπὶ τῆς γῆς;

²⁶ἐξέλιπεν ἡ καρδία μου καὶ ἡ σάρξ μου, ὁ θεὸς τῆς καρδίας μου, καὶ ἡ μερὶς μου ὁ θεὸς εἰς τὸν αἰῶνα.

²⁷ὅτι ἰδοὺ οἱ μακρύνοντες ἑαυτοὺς ἀπὸ σοῦ ἀπολοῦνται· ἐξωλέθρευσας πάντα τὸν πορνεύοντα ἀπὸ σοῦ.

²⁸ἐμοὶ δὲ τὸ προσκολλᾶσθαι τῷ κυρίῳ ἀγαθόν ἐστιν, τίθεσθαι ἐν τῷ κυρίῳ τὴν ἐλπίδα μου, τοὺ ἐξαγγεῖλαι πάσας τὰς αἰνέσεις σου ἐν ταῖς πύλαις τῆς θυγατρὸς Σιών.
