Salmo 37

¹Salmo de Davi: Não te irrites com os malfeitores, nem tenhas inveja dos que praticam perversidade.

²Porque assim como a erva, eles logo serão cortados; e como a verdura eles cairão.

³Confia no SENHOR, e faze o bem; habita a terra, e te alimentarás em segurança.

⁴E agrada-te no SENHOR; e ele te dará os pedidos de teu coração.

⁵Conduz teu caminho ao SENHOR, e confia nele; e ele lhe fará o bem.

⁶E ele manifestará tua justiça como a luz; e teu direito como o sol do meio-dia.

⁷Descansa-te no SENHOR, e espera por ele; não te irrites contra aquele cujo caminho prospera, nem com o homem que planeja maldades.

⁸Detém a ira, abandona o furor; não te irrites de maneira alguma para fazer o mal.

⁹Porque os malfeitores serão exterminados; mas os que esperam no SENHOR herdarão a terra.

¹⁰E ainda um pouco, e o perverso não mais existirá; e tu olharás para o lugar dele, e ele não aparecerá.

¹¹Mas os mansos herdarão a terra, e se agradarão com muita paz.

¹²O perverso trama contra o justo, e range seus dentes contra ele.

¹³O Senhor ri dele, porque vê que já vem o dia dele.

¹⁴O perversos pegarão a espada e armarão seu arco, para abaterem ao miserável e necessitado, para matarem os corretos no caminho.

¹⁵Mas sua espada entrará em seus corações, e seus arcos serão quebrados.

¹⁶O pouco que o justo tem é melhor do que a riqueza de muitos perversos.

¹⁷Porque os braços dos perversos serão quebrados, mas o SENHOR sustenta os justos.

¹⁸O SENHOR conhece os dias dos corretos, e a herança deles permanecerá para sempre.

¹⁹Eles não serão envergonhados no tempo mau, e terão fartura nos dias de fome.

²⁰Mas os perversos perecerão, e os inimigos do SENHOR desaparecerão tal como as melhores partes dos cordeiros; eles de desfarão na fumaça.

²¹O perverso toma emprestado, e paga de volta; mas o justo se compadece e dá.

²²Porque os que são por ele abençoados herdarão a terra; mas os que são por ele amaldiçoados serão removidos.

²³Os passos do homem justo são preparados pelo SENHOR; e ele tem prazer em seu caminho.

²⁴Quando cai, ele não fica derrubado, pois o SENHOR sustenta a sua mão.

²⁵Eu já fui jovem, e já envelheci; mas nunca vi o justo desamparado, nem a sua semente a pedir pão.

²⁶O dia todo ele se compadece, e empresta; e sua semente é abençoada.

²⁷Afasta-te do mal, e faze o bem; e faça sua habitação eterna.

²⁸Porque o SENHOR ama o juízo, e não desampara a seus santos: eles estão guardados para sempre; mas a semente dos perversos será removida.

²⁹Os justos herdarão a terra, e para sempre nela habitarão.

³⁰A boca do justo fala de sabedoria, e sua língua fala do bom juízo.

³¹A Lei de seu Deus está em seu coração; seus passos não serão abalados.

³²O perverso espia ao justo, e procura matá-lo.

³³Mas o SENHOR não o deixa em suas mãos; nem também o condenará, quando for julgado.

³⁴Espera no SENHOR, guarda o seu caminho, e ele te exaltará, para herdares a terra; tu verás que os perversos serão removidos.

³⁵Eu vi ao perverso violento crescer como a árvore verde, natural da terra.

³⁶Porém ele já foi embora, e eis que ele não existe mais; eu o procurei, e não foi achado.

³⁷Olha ao sincero, e vê o correto; porque o fim de tal homem é a paz.

³⁸Mas os transgressores serão juntamente destruídos; o fim dos perversos será eliminado.

³⁹Porém a salvação dos justos vem do SENHOR, que é a força deles no tempo de angústia.

⁴⁰E o SENHOR os socorrerá, e os livrará; ele os livrará dos perversos, e os salvará, porque nele confiam.

¹A Psalm of David. Fret not thyself because of evildoers, neither be thou envious against the workers of iniquity.

²For they shall soon be cut down like the grass, and wither as the green herb.

³Trust in the Lord, and do good; so shalt thou dwell in the land, and verily thou shalt be fed.

⁴Delight thyself also in the Lord; and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart.

⁵Commit thy way unto the Lord; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass.

⁶And he shall bring forth thy righteousness as the light, and thy judgment as the noonday.

⁷Rest in the Lord, and wait patiently for him: fret not thyself because of him who prospereth in his way, because of the man who bringeth wicked devices to pass.

⁸Cease from anger, and forsake wrath: fret not thyself in any wise to do evil.

⁹For evildoers shall be cut off: but those that wait upon the Lord, they shall inherit the earth.

¹⁰For yet a little while, and the wicked shall not be: yea, thou shalt diligently consider his place, and it shall not be.

¹¹But the meek shall inherit the earth; and shall delight themselves in the abundance of peace.

¹²The wicked plotteth against the just, and gnasheth upon him with his teeth.

¹³The Lord shall laugh at him: for he seeth that his day is coming.

¹⁴The wicked have drawn out the sword, and have bent their bow, to cast down the poor and needy, and to slay such as be of upright conversation.

¹⁵Their sword shall enter into their own heart, and their bows shall be broken.

¹⁶A little that a righteous man hath is better than the riches of many wicked.

¹⁷For the arms of the wicked shall be broken: but the Lord upholdeth the righteous.

¹⁸The Lord knoweth the days of the upright: and their inheritance shall be for ever.

¹⁹They shall not be ashamed in the evil time: and in the days of famine they shall be satisfied.

²⁰But the wicked shall perish, and the enemies of the Lord shall be as the fat of lambs: they shall consume; into smoke shall they consume away.

²¹The wicked borroweth, and payeth not again: but the righteous sheweth mercy, and giveth.

²²For such as be blessed of him shall inherit the earth; and they that be cursed of him shall be cut off.

²³The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord: and he delighteth in his way.

²⁴Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down: for the Lord upholdeth him with his hand.

²⁵I have been young, and now am old; yet have I not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his seed begging bread.

²⁶He is ever merciful, and lendeth; and his seed is blessed.

²⁷Depart from evil, and do good; and dwell for evermore.

²⁸For the Lord loveth judgment, and forsaketh not his saints; they are preserved for ever: but the seed of the wicked shall be cut off.

²⁹The righteous shall inherit the land, and dwell therein for ever.

³⁰The mouth of the righteous speaketh wisdom, and his tongue talketh of judgment.

³¹The law of his God is in his heart; none of his steps shall slide.

³²The wicked watcheth the righteous, and seeketh to slay him.

³³The Lord will not leave him in his hand, nor condemn him when he is judged.

³⁴Wait on the Lord, and keep his way, and he shall exalt thee to inherit the land: when the wicked are cut off, thou shalt see it.

³⁵I have seen the wicked in great power, and spreading himself like a green bay tree.

³⁶Yet he passed away, and, lo, he was not: yea, I sought him, but he could not be found.

³⁷Mark the perfect man, and behold the upright: for the end of that man is peace.

³⁸But the transgressors shall be destroyed together: the end of the wicked shall be cut off.

³⁹But the salvation of the righteous is of the Lord: he is their strength in the time of trouble.

⁴⁰And the Lord shall help them, and deliver them: he shall deliver them from the wicked, and save them, because they trust in him.

¹Psalmus ipsi David. Noli æmulari in malignantibus, neque zelaveris facientes iniquitatem:

²quoniam tamquam fœnum velociter arescent, et quemadmodum olera herbarum cito decident.

³Spera in Domino, et fac bonitatem; et inhabita terram, et pasceris in divitiis ejus.

⁴Delectare in Domino, et dabit tibi petitiones cordis tui.

⁵Revela Domino viam tuam, et spera in eo, et ipse faciet.

⁶Et educet quasi lumen justitiam tuam, et judicium tuum tamquam meridiem.

⁷Subditus esto Domino, et ora eum. Noli æmulari in eo qui prosperatur in via sua; in homine faciente injustitias.

⁸Desine ab ira, et derelinque furorem; noli æmulari ut maligneris.

⁹Quoniam qui malignantur exterminabuntur; sustinentes autem Dominum, ipsi hæreditabunt terram.

¹⁰Et adhuc pusillum, et non erit peccator; et quæres locum ejus, et non invenies.

¹¹Mansueti autem hæreditabunt terram, et delectabuntur in multitudine pacis.

¹²Observabit peccator justum, et stridebit super eum dentibus suis.

¹³Dominus autem irridebit eum, quoniam prospicit quod veniet dies ejus.

¹⁴Gladium evaginaverunt peccatores; intenderunt arcum suum: ut dejiciant pauperem et inopem, ut trucident rectos corde.

¹⁵Gladius eorum intret in corda ipsorum, et arcus eorum confringatur.

¹⁶Melius est modicum justo, super divitias peccatorum multas:

¹⁷quoniam brachia peccatorum conterentur: confirmat autem justos Dominus.

¹⁸Novit Dominus dies immaculatorum, et hæreditas eorum in æternum erit.

¹⁹Non confundentur in tempore malo, et in diebus famis saturabuntur:

²⁰quia peccatores peribunt. Inimici vero Domini mox ut honorificati fuerint et exaltati, deficientes quemadmodum fumus deficient.

²¹Mutuabitur peccator, et non solvet; justus autem miseretur et tribuet:

²²quia benedicentes ei hæreditabunt terram; maledicentes autem ei disperibunt.

²³Apud Dominum gressus hominis dirigentur, et viam ejus volet.

²⁴Cum ceciderit, non collidetur, quia Dominus supponit manum suam.

²⁵Junior fui, etenim senui; et non vidi justum derelictum, nec semen ejus quærens panem.

²⁶Tota die miseretur et commodat; et semen illius in benedictione erit.

²⁷Declina a malo, et fac bonum, et inhabita in sæculum sæculi:

²⁸quia Dominus amat judicium, et non derelinquet sanctos suos: in æternum conservabuntur. Injusti punientur, et semen impiorum peribit.

²⁹Justi autem hæreditabunt terram, et inhabitabunt in sæculum sæculi super eam.

³⁰Os justi meditabitur sapientiam, et lingua ejus loquetur judicium.

³¹Lex Dei ejus in corde ipsius, et non supplantabuntur gressus ejus.

³²Considerat peccator justum, et quærit mortificare eum.

³³Dominus autem non derelinquet eum in manibus ejus, nec damnabit eum cum judicabitur illi.

³⁴Exspecta Dominum, et custodi viam ejus, et exaltabit te ut hæreditate capias terram: cum perierint peccatores, videbis.

³⁵Vidi impium superexaltatum, et elevatum sicut cedros Libani:

³⁶et transivi, et ecce non erat; et quæsivi eum, et non est inventus locus ejus.

³⁷Custodi innocentiam, et vide æquitatem, quoniam sunt reliquiæ homini pacifico.

³⁸Injusti autem disperibunt simul; reliquiæ impiorum interibunt.

³⁹Salus autem justorum a Domino; et protector eorum in tempore tribulationis.

⁴⁰Et adjuvabit eos Dominus, et liberabit eos; et eruet eos a peccatoribus, et salvabit eos, quia speraverunt in eo.

¹Τοῦ Δαυείδ. Μὴ παραζήλου ἐν πονηρευομένοις, μηδὲ ζήλου τοὺς ποιοῦντας τὴν ἀνομίαν·

²ὅτι ὡσεὶ χόρτος ταχὺ ἀποξηρανθήσονται, καὶ ὡσεὶ λάχανα χλόης ταχὺ ἀποπεσοῦνται.

³ἔλπισον ἐπὶ Κύριον καὶ ποίει χρηστότητα, καὶ κατασκήνου τὴν γῆν καὶ ποιμανθήσῃ ἐπὶ τῷ πλούτῳ αὐτῆς.

⁴κατατρύφησον τοῦ κυρίου, καὶ δώσει σοι τὰ αἰτήματα τῆς καρδίας σου.

⁵ἀποκάλυψον πρὸς Κύριον τὴν ὁδόν σου καὶ ἔλπισον ἐπ᾽ αὐτόν, καὶ αὐτὸς ποιήσει·

⁶καὶ ἐξοίσει ὡς φῶς τὴν δικαιοσύνην σου, καὶ τὸ κρίμα σου ὡς μεσημβρίαν.

⁷ὑποτάγηθι τῷ κυρίῳ καὶ ἱκέτευσον αὐτόν· μὴ παραζήλου ἐν τῷ κατευοδουμένῳ ἐν τῇ ζωῇ αὐτοῦ, ἐν ἀνθρώπῳ ποιοῦντι παρανομίας.

⁸παῦσαι ἀπὸ ὀργῆς καὶ ἐνκατάλιπε θυμόν, μὴ παραζήλου ὥστε πονηρεύεσθαι.

⁹ὅτι οἱ πονηρευόμενοι ἐξολοθρευθήσονται, οἱ δὲ ὑπομένοντες τὸν κύριον αὐτοὶ κληρονομήσουσιν τὴν γῆν.

¹⁰καὶ ἔτι ὀλίγον καὶ οὐ μὴ ὑπάρξῃ ἁμαρτωλός, καὶ ζητήσεις τὸν τόπον αὐτοῦ καὶ οὐ μὴ εὕρῃς·

¹¹οἱ δὲ πρᾳεῖς κληρονομήσουσιν γῆν, καὶ κατατρυφήσουσιν ἐπὶ πλήθει εἰρήνης.

¹²παρατηρήσεται ὁ ἁμαρτωλὸς τὸν δίκαιον, καὶ βρύξει ἐπ᾽ αὐτὸν τοὺς ὀδόντας αὐτοῦ·

¹³ὁ δὲ κύριος ἐκγελάσεται αὐτόν, ὅτι προβλέπει ὅτι ἥξει ἡ ἡμέρα αὐτοῦ.

¹⁴ῥομφαίαν ἐσπάσαντο οἱ ἁμαρτωλοί, ἐνέτειναν τόξον αὐτῶν, τοῦ καταβαλεῖν πτωχὸν καὶ πένητα, τοῦ σφάξαι τοὺς εὐθεῖς τῇ καρδίᾳ·

¹⁵ἡ ῥομφαία αὐτῶν εἰσέλθοι εἰς τὴν καρδίαν αὐτῶν, καὶ τὰ τόξα αὐτῶν συντριβείησαν.

¹⁶κρεῖσσον ὀλίγον τῷ δικαίῳ ὑπὲρ πλοῦτον ἁμαρτωλῶν πολύν.

¹⁷ὅτι βραχίονες ἁμαρτωλῶν συντριβήσονται, ὑποστηρίζει δὲ τοὺς δικαίους Κύριος.

¹⁸γινώσκει Κύριος τὰς ὁδοὺς τῶν ἀμώμων, καὶ ἡ κληρονομία αὐτῶν εἰς τὸν αἰῶνα ἔσται·

¹⁹οὐ καταισχυνθήσονται ἐν καιρῷ πονηρῷ, καὶ ἐν ἡμέραις λιμοῦ χορτασθήσονται.

²⁰ὅτι οἱ ἁμαρτωλοὶ ἀπολοῦνται, οἱ δὲ ἐχθροὶ τοῦ κυρίου ἅμα τῷ δοξασθῆναι αὐτοὺς καὶ ὑψωθῆναι ἐκλιπόντες ὡσεὶ καπνὸς ἐξέλιπον.

²¹δανίζεται ὁ ἁμαρτωλὸς καὶ οὐκ ἀποτίσει, ὁ δὲ δίκαιος οἰκτείρει καὶ διδοῖ.

²²ὅτι οἱ εὐλογοῦντες αὐτὸν κληρονομήσουσι γῆν, οἱ δὲ καταρώμενοι αὐτὸν ἐξολοθρευθήσονται.

²³παρὰ Κυρίου τὰ διαβήματα ἀνθρώπου κατευθύνεται, καὶ τὴν ὁδὸν αὐτοῦ θελήσει·

²⁴ὅταν πέσῃ οὐ καταραχθήσεται, ὅτι Κύριος ἀντιστηρίζει χεῖρα αὐτοῦ.

²⁵νεώτερος ἐγενόμην καὶ γὰρ ἐγήρασα, καὶ οὐκ ἴδον δίκαιον ἐνκαταλελιμμένον οὐδὲ τὸ σπέρμα αὐτοῦ ζητοῦν ἄρτους.

²⁶ὅλην τὴν ἡμέραν ἐλεᾷ καὶ δανίζει, καὶ τὸ σπέρμα αὐτοῦ εἰς εὐλογίαν ἔσται.

²⁷ἔκκλινον ἀπὸ κακοῦ καὶ ποίησον ἀγαθόν, καὶ κατασκήνου εἰς αἰῶνα αἰῶνος.

²⁸ὅτι Κύριος ἀγαπᾷ κρίσιν, καὶ οὐκ ἐνκαταλείψει τοὺς ὁσίους αὐτοῦ, εἰς τὸν αἰῶνα φυλαχθήσονται· ἄμωμοι ἐκδικηθήσονται, καὶ σπέρμα ἀσεβῶν ἐξολοθρευθήσεται.

²⁹δίκαιοι δὲ κληρονομήσουσι γῆν, καὶ κατασκηνώσουσιν εἰς αἰῶνα αἰῶνος ἐπ᾽ αὐτῆς.

³⁰στόμα δικαίου μελετήσει σοφίαν, καὶ ἡ γλῶσσα αὐτοῦ λαλήσει κρίσιν·

³¹ὁ νόμος τοῦ θεοῦ αὐτοῦ ἐν καρδίᾳ αὐτοῦ, καὶ οὐχ ὑποσκελισθήσεται τὰ διαβήματα αὐτοῦ.

³²κατανοήσει ὁ ἁμαρτωλὸς τὸν δίκαιον, καὶ ζητεῖ τοῦ θανατῶσαι αὐτόν·

³³ὁ δὲ κύριος οὐ μὴ ἐνκαταλίπῃ αὐτὸν εἰς τὰς χεῖρας αὐτοῦ, οὐδὲ μὴ καταδικάσῃ αὐτὸν ὅταν κρίνηται αὐτῷ.

³⁴ὑπόμεινον τὸν κύριον καὶ φύλαξον τὴν ὁδὸν αὐτοῦ, καὶ ὑψώσει σε τοῦ κατακληρονομῆσαι τὴν γῆν, ἐν τῷ ἐξολεθρεύεσθαι ἁμαρτωλοὺς ὄψῃ.

³⁵εἶδον ἀσεβῆ ὑπερυψούμενον καὶ ἐπαιρόμενον ὡς τὰς κέδρους τοῦ Λιβάνου·

³⁶καὶ παρῆλθον, καὶ ἰδοὺ οὐκ ἦν· καὶ ἐζήτησα αὐτόν, καὶ οὐχ εὑρέθη ὁ τόπος αὐτοῦ.

³⁷φύλασσε ἀκακίαν καὶ ἴδε εὐθύτητα, ὅτι ἐστὶν ἐνκατάλιμμα ἀνθρώπῳ εἰρηνικῷ.

³⁸οἱ δὲ παράνομοι ἐξολεθρευθήσονται ἐπὶ τὸ αὐτό, τὰ ἐνκαταλίμματα τῶν ἀσεβῶν ἐξολεθρευθήσονται.

³⁹σωτηρία δὲ τῶν δικαίων παρὰ Κυρίῳ, καὶ ὑπερασπιστὴς αὐτῶν ἐστιν ἐν καιρῷ θλίψεως·

⁴⁰καὶ βοηθήσει αὐτοῖς Κύριος καὶ ῥύσεται αὐτούς, καὶ ἐξελεῖται αὐτοὺς ἐξ ἁμαρτωλῶν καὶ σώσει αὐτούς, ὅτι ἤλπισαν ἐπ᾽ αὐτόν.
