Salmo 21

¹Salmo de Davi para o regente: SENHOR, em tua força o rei se alegra; e como ele fica contente com tua salvação!

²Tu lhe deste o desejo de seu coração; e tu não negaste o pedido de seus lábios. (Selá)

³Porque tu foste até ele com bênçãos de bens; tu puseste na cabeça dele uma coroa de ouro fino.

⁴Ele te pediu vida, e tu lhe deste; muitos dias, para todo o sempre.

⁵Grande é a honra dele por tua salvação; honra e majestade tu lhe concedeste.

⁶Porque tu o pões em bênçãos para sempre; tu fazes abundante a alegria dele com tua face.

⁷Porque o rei confia no SENHOR; e ele nunca se abalará com a bondade do Altíssimo.

⁸Tua mão alcançará a todos o os teus inimigos; tua mão direita encontrará aos que te odeiam.

⁹Tu os porás como que num forno de fogo no tempo em que se encontrarem em tua presença; o SENHOR em sua ira os devorará; e fogo os consumirá.

¹⁰Tu destruirás o fruto deles de sobre a terra; e também a semente deles dos filhos dos homens.

¹¹Porque eles quiseram o mal contra ti; planejaram uma cilada, mas não tiveram sucesso.

¹²Porque tu os porás em fuga; com tuas flechas nas cordas tu lhes apontarás no rosto.

¹³Exalta-te, SENHOR, em tua força; cantaremos e louvaremos o teu poder.

¹To the chief Musician, A Psalm of David. The king shall joy in thy strength, O Lord; and in thy salvation how greatly shall he rejoice!

²Thou hast given him his heart’s desire, and hast not withholden the request of his lips. Selah.

³For thou preventest him with the blessings of goodness: thou settest a crown of pure gold on his head.

⁴He asked life of thee, and thou gavest it him, even length of days for ever and ever.

⁵His glory is great in thy salvation: honour and majesty hast thou laid upon him.

⁶For thou hast made him most blessed for ever: thou hast made him exceeding glad with thy countenance.

⁷For the king trusteth in the Lord, and through the mercy of the most High he shall not be moved.

⁸Thine hand shall find out all thine enemies: thy right hand shall find out those that hate thee.

⁹Thou shalt make them as a fiery oven in the time of thine anger: the Lord shall swallow them up in his wrath, and the fire shall devour them.

¹⁰Their fruit shalt thou destroy from the earth, and their seed from among the children of men.

¹¹For they intended evil against thee: they imagined a mischievous device, which they are not able to perform.

¹²Therefore shalt thou make them turn their back, when thou shalt make ready thine arrows upon thy strings against the face of them.

¹³Be thou exalted, Lord, in thine own strength: so will we sing and praise thy power.

²Domine, in virtute tua lætabitur rex, et super salutare tuum exsultabit vehementer.

³Desiderium cordis ejus tribuisti ei, et voluntate labiorum ejus non fraudasti eum.

⁴Quoniam prævenisti eum in benedictionibus dulcedinis; posuisti in capite ejus coronam de lapide pretioso.

⁵Vitam petiit a te, et tribuisti ei longitudinem dierum, in sæculum, et in sæculum sæculi.

⁶Magna est gloria ejus in salutari tuo; gloriam et magnum decorem impones super eum.

⁷Quoniam dabis eum in benedictionem in sæculum sæculi; lætificabis eum in gaudio cum vultu tuo.

⁸Quoniam rex sperat in Domino, et in misericordia Altissimi non commovebitur.

⁹Inveniatur manus tua omnibus inimicis tuis; dextera tua inveniat omnes qui te oderunt.

¹⁰Pones eos ut clibanum ignis in tempore vultus tui: Dominus in ira sua conturbabit eos, et devorabit eos ignis.

¹¹Fructum eorum de terra perdes, et semen eorum a filiis hominum,

¹²quoniam declinaverunt in te mala; cogitaverunt consilia quæ non potuerunt stabilire.

¹³Quoniam pones eos dorsum; in reliquiis tuis præparabis vultum eorum.

¹⁴Exaltare, Domine, in virtute tua; cantabimus et psallemus virtutes tuas.

¹Εἰς τὸ τέλος· ψαλμὸς τῷ Δαυείδ.

²Κύριε, ἐν τῇ δυνάμει σου εὐφρανθήσεται ὁ βασιλεύς, καὶ ἐπὶ τῷ σωτηρίῳ σου ἀγαλλιάσεται σφόδρα.

³τὴν ἐπιθυμίαν τῆς ψυχῆς αὐτοῦ ἔδωκας αὐτῷ, καὶ τὴν δέησιν τῶν χειλέων αὐτοῦ οὐκ ἐστέρησας αὐτόν. διάψαλμα.

⁴ὅτι προέφθασας αὐτὸν ἐν εὐλογίαις χρηστότητος, ἔθηκας ἐπὶ τὴν κεφαλὴν αὐτοῦ στέφανον ἐκ λίθου τιμίου.

⁵ζωὴν ᾐτήσατό σε, καὶ ἔδωκας αὐτῷ, μακρότητα ἡμερῶν εἰς αἰῶνα αἰῶνος.

⁶μεγάλη ἡ δόξα αὐτοῦ ἐν τῷ σωτηρίῳ σου, δόξαν καὶ μεγαλοπρέπειαν ἐπιθήσεις ἐπ᾽ αὐτόν·

⁷ὅτι δώσεις αὐτῷ εὐλογίαν εἰς αἰῶνα αἰῶνος, εὐφρανεῖς αὐτὸν ἐν χαρᾷ μετὰ τοῦ προσώπου σου.

⁸ὅτι ὁ βασιλεὺς ἐλπίζει ἐπὶ Κύριον, καὶ ἐν τῷ ἐλέει τοῦ ὑψίστου οὐ μὴ σαλευθῇ.

⁹εὑρεθείη ἡ χείρ σου πᾶσιν τοῖς ἐχθροῖς σου, ἡ δεξιά σου εὕροι πάντας τοὺς μισοῦντάς σε.

¹⁰θήσεις αὐτοὺς ὡς κλίβανον πυρὸς εἰς καιρὸν τοῦ προσώπου σου· Κύριε, ἐν ὀργῇ σου συνταράξεις αὐτούς, καὶ καταφάγεται αὐτοὺς πῦρ.

¹¹τὸν καρπὸν αὐτῶν ἀπὸ γῆς ἀπολεῖς, καὶ τὸ σπέρμα αὐτῶν ἀπὸ υἱῶν ἀνθρώπων.

¹²ὅτι ἔκλιναν εἰς σὲ κακά, διελογίσαντο βουλὴν ἣν οὐ μὴ δύνωνται στῆσαι.

¹³ὅτι θήσεις αὐτοὺς νῶτον, ἐν τοῖς περιλοίποις σου ἑτοιμάσεις τὸ πρόσωπον αὐτῶν.

¹⁴ὑψώθητι, Κύριε, ἐν τῇ δυνάμει σου, ᾄσομεν καὶ ψαλοῦμεν τὰς δυναστείας σου.
