Salmo 124

¹Cântico dos degraus, de Davi: Diga, Israel: O que seria de nós se o SENHOR não estivesse conosco?

²Se o SENHOR não estivesse conosco, quando os homens se levantaram contra nós,

³Eles teriam nos devorado vivos, quando o furor deles se acendeu contra nós.

⁴As águas teriam nos coberto, e a corrente de águas teria passado por sobre nossas almas.

⁵Águas violentas teriam passado por sobre nossas almas.

⁶Bendito seja o SENHOR, que não nos entregou como presa aos dentes deles.

⁷Nossa alma escapou como um pássaro da armadilha dos caçadores; a cadeia se quebrou, e nós escapamos.

⁸Nosso socorro está no nome do SENHOR, que fez o céu e a terra.

²If it had not been the Lord who was on our side, when men rose up against us:

³Then they had swallowed us up quick, when their wrath was kindled against us:

⁴Then the waters had overwhelmed us, the stream had gone over our soul:

⁵Then the proud waters had gone over our soul.

⁶Blessed be the Lord, who hath not given us as a prey to their teeth.

⁷Our soul is escaped as a bird out of the snare of the fowlers: the snare is broken, and we are escaped.

⁸Our help is in the name of the Lord, who made heaven and earth.

¹Canticum graduum. Nisi quia Dominus erat in nobis, dicat nunc Israël,

²nisi quia Dominus erat in nobis: cum exsurgerent homines in nos,

³forte vivos deglutissent nos; cum irasceretur furor eorum in nos,

⁴forsitan aqua absorbuisset nos;

⁵torrentem pertransivit anima nostra; forsitan pertransisset anima nostra aquam intolerabilem.

⁶Benedictus Dominus, qui non dedit nos in captionem dentibus eorum.

⁷Anima nostra sicut passer erepta est de laqueo venantium; laqueus contritus est, et nos liberati sumus.

⁸Adjutorium nostrum in nomine Domini, qui fecit cælum et terram.

¹ᾨδὴ τῶν ἀναβαθμῶν· τῷ Δαυείδ. Εἰ μὴ ὅτι Κύριος ἦν ἐν ἡμῖν, εἰπάτω δὴ Ἰσραήλ,

²εἰ μὴ ὅτι Κύριος ἦν ἐν ἡμῖν, ἐν τῷ ἐπαναστῆναι ἀνθρώπους ἐφ᾽ ἡμᾶς,

³ἄρα ζῶντας ἂν κατέπιον ἡμᾶς, ἐν τῷ ὀργισθῆναι τὸν θυμὸν αὐτῶν ἐφ᾽ ἡμᾶς.

⁴ἄρα τὸ ὕδωρ κατεπόντισεν ἡμᾶς, χείμαρρον διῆλθεν ἡ ψυχὴ ἡμῶν·

⁵ἄρα διῆλθεν ἡ ψυχὴ ἡμῶν τὸ ὕδωρ τὸ ἀνυπόστατον.

⁶εὐλογητὸς Κύριος ὃς οὐκ ἔδωκεν ἡμᾶς εἰς θήραν τοῖς ὀδοῦσιν αὐτῶν.

⁷ἡ ψυχὴ ἡμῶν ὡς στρουθίον ἐρρύσθη ἐκ τῆς παγίδος τῶν θηρευόντων· ἡ παγὶς συνετρίβη, καὶ ἡμεῖς ἐρύσθημεν.

⁸βοήθεια ἡμῶν ἐν ὀνόματι Κυρίου τοῦ ποιήσαντος τὸν οὐρανὸν καὶ τὴν γῆν.
